PLAYER OFFERS - SUMMARY

We will make OFFERS to players and let them know what team they are selected for AT TRYOUTS. All players that are offered positions will have the opportunity to accept their offers at tryouts.. Signing the  Puget Sound Region Letter of Commitment is how you officially commit. All Athletes can SIGN as early as the tryout date.

2024/2025 AGE DEFINITION (based on age July 1, 2025)

How old your player will be on September 1st of 2025 is the team age group your athlete can tryout for.  Players can play up a year, but NEVER down.

DURING TRYOUTS - OFFERS AND SIGNING....

  1. Parents will be able to attend the primary tryout at Juanita High School, however they must remain in the bleachers. Parents are NOT permitted on the courts. Our priority throughout the day is running a tryout, not managing spectators. Those that are not able to comply will be asked to leave. The only exception would be if a coach asks a player to get their parent(s) so they can ask questions about their commitment level to a particular team in our club.
  • Because coaches ask questions of players during the tryout process, we do recommend that parents stick around to help clarify their commitment level.
  • We will not have a parents meeting during the tryout. We will make a program sheet available with dues, costs, inclusions, etc. for parents to review during the tryout. However, if your daughter is offered a position on a team, we typically have a brief meeting with the team, coaches, club staff once the team is selected in order to answer questions. and you will be invited to join for Q & A
  • Please confer with your daughter about her interest level in one of our teams. Coaches will spend time over the course of tryouts trying to discover which athletes are MOST interested in NW Juniors and who would accept a position, if offered. Our coaches will try to put the best team together of players that have NW Juniors at the top of their list.
  • Players will know their status and if they are offered a position with the club the day of tryouts.
  • Because of the large number of applicants, we reserve the right to dismiss a few players early if we genuinely feel that they will not be considered for a position on one of our teams. Our intent is to parse numbers down to a reasonable number of players so we can make the best decisions possible in formulating our teams. As a result, we advise parents to stay in close proximity in case their daughter is released early

Team Offered and Acceptance

An official offer means in writing using the 2025 PSR Letter of Commitment. A verbal offer is NOT an official offer. At tryouts we will make an official offer to 12 players and a verbal offer to between 3-5 alternates per team.

Once offered, players will have 3 options:

  • Accept the offer and sign to secure their spot on the team immediately.
  • Decline the offer. At which point the offer will be made to another individual.
  • Exercise your right to take 48 hours to decide.  If you choose this option, we ask that you make a decision as quickly as possible. Your decision will affect another player that has been chosen as an alternate.

**See Parent Guide to Letter of Commitment.

If you are an alternate, these are your options:

  • Understand, the players offered contracts have up to 48 hours to accept or decline their offer. As an alternate you must remain patient, our staff or coach will contact you directly if there is an opening. Otherwise, if you are not contacted, then your player should come to make-up tryouts. You will use the same assigned number.
  • Let us know if you would accept an offer to play on the next team. Meaning, if you are an alternate to the #1 team, would you accept a position on the #2 team if the #1 team fills at your position?
  • If you WOULD accept an offer, you will be given an official offer for the next team. This would secure your spot in the club, and you are free to accept by signing the PSR LOC - following the signing rules.
  • If you WOULD NOT accept an offer to play on the next team, you will not receive an official offer until a spot opens up on your desired team. At that time, the coach or the club will send you an official offer; usually via email. Signing rules will be in effect at that time.

Because there is a small window of time between our initial tryouts and our makeup tryouts, (just over 48 hours) we ask that alternates that are offered make their decisions in a timely manner.

What happens after signing?

The Welcome e-mail is sent 3-5 days after our initial tryouts with the next steps to complete your club registration.  The e-mail will come from info@nwvolleyball.com, so if you don't see it in your inbox, check your junk mail.

**For Make-up Tryout, you will receive it by the next day.
